A TOTAL of 17 primary schools have been affected after the capital investment programme in Wyre Forest was put on hold by Worcestershire County Council.

Many parents feel frustrated that they don’t know what is going on and that they have been left in “limbo”.

Kerry Smith, of Greenhill, whose seven-year-old son Jaidan attends Offmore Primary School, said: “We are just left in limbo.

“No one has any idea what is going on. The school’s closed and we can’t find out anything. It is very frustrating.”

n The schools affected are Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary, St Catherine's CofE Primary, Offmore Primary, St George's CofE Primary, Wilden All Saints CofE Primary, Stourport Primary, Franche Community Primary, Cookley Sebright, St Oswald’s CofE Primary, Heronswood Primary, Wolverley Sebright Primary, St Anne’s CofE Primary, Upper Arley CofE Primary, Lickhill Primary, Comberton Primary, Burlish Park Primary and St John's CofE Primary.

Baxter College in Kidderminster has also been affected.

The proposed merger between Stourminster School and Blakebrook Special School will not be affected by the recent funding announcements, according to county council chiefs.
