AN enthusiastic queue formed outside Bewdley Tourist Information Centre as tickets for this year’s Bewdley Festival went on sale.
The Worcester Live box office also had a busy morning on the phones, with people wanting to get tickets for their favourite comedians, speakers and musicians.
First in the queue, more than an hour before opening, was Elaine Aston of Stourbridge, who was determined to get the tickets she wanted.
Elaine’s choices included stand-up comedian Jo Caulfield, Guardian political sketch writer Simon Hoggart, Anthony Slinn’s art lecture Dali Explained and the Max Keen Lecture.
Dave Collins of Bewdley Festival said: “Elaine and the others were well advised to turn out on day one. Tickets are selling as well as we had hoped and some acts are already very near to selling out. “
