Bewdley Concert Band held a First Anniversary Concert last Saturday night at St Anne’s Church.

During the concert the band celebrated the past year and thanked their many supporters.

Musical Director Ian Worton said: "It was an absolutely marvellous concert. The church was packed and the band played exceptionally well.

"It was a wonderful way to round off our first year which has been fantastic. The band has exceeded all my expectations this year. We really are now an established community band in Bewdley."

During the past year the band has grown to 33 members of all ages and abilities and has performed at a variety of functions including Jubilee Gardens in Bewdley, Bewdley Museum, Gheluvelt Park in Worcester and Far Forest Countryside Show.

It is now looking forward to an even more successful second year. The band’s next performance will be at The Christmas Lights Festival in Bewdley. The band still welcomes new members and would particularly like to hear from clarinet players.

Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings at Bewdley Primary School. For more information contact band secretary Valerie Blount on 078137 69904.
