More than 60 members and visitors suffered ’20 years of Trials and Tribulations’ with Barry Knee as he described his spectacular creation of Pump Cottage Gardens.

A gentle humour, patience and laid-back attitude sums Barry up in all he does.

The plants he lost would break most people’s heart (‘a learning curve,’ he said).

Trees shading the wrong side of the garden – ‘Never mind’ says Barry whilst trying different plants to see which would grow in a difficult area but he was NOT going to remove the trees. Natural water sources everywhere WILL be channelled to make features.

By using the natural contours of the land he has created a magical, romantic perfumed haven for all to enjoy and the members are looking forward to visiting Pump Cottage Gardens on the evening of Wednesday, August 14.

Kim Hurst will make a welcome return at the meeting on Wednesday, June 12 with ‘Tasty Buds, Luscious Leaves and Succulent Shoots’. Do we eat them, cook them or just admire them? Whatever! It will be an interesting evening with Kim.

On Tuesday, June 18, there will be an outing to Kelmarch and Coton Manor – two lovely gardens and not too far to travel.

‘Out and About’ will be the topic when Jim Almond returns on Wednesday, July 10, with his beautiful slides to take a look at wildlife in the garden.

Meetings take place at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm with coffee and chat before commencing at 8pm.

Visitors will be welcome.
