The Spring Show and Quiz, with Derek Walker as the quiz master, will be held on Wednesday, March 27 The club meets on the fourth Wednesday in the calendar month at Clows Top Victory Hall. Doors open 7.45pm, for the speaker at 8pm.

Mike Jones gave a talk entitled ‘Mistletoe’ at the latest meeting. It included some excellent pictures explaining the facts, myths and legend associated with mistletoe. There are hundreds of species and the one growing in our country is the European variety. The evening was a great success with everyone thoroughly enjoying the talk.

Raising cash is just a toddle

It’s a toddle: Mums and toddlers from Clows Top who helped raise £800 with fun and games.

CLOWS Top Toddler Group raised £800 for Acorns Children’s Hospice and resources for its toddlers by hosting a family fun day. Hundreds of people attended to join in with the fun and games. The toddler group, run by local mums, presented a cheque for £400 to Acorns, a charity that improves the lives of terminally ill children and their families in Worcerstershire. The toddler group is held every Tuesday morning at Clows Top Victory Hall and would welcome new families. More details can be obtained from Vicky May on 07966 812122.

Pam Pittwood gave a talk entitled ‘Not All Leaves Are Green’ at the September meeting. The slide show had some excellent pictures showing a wide variety of plants, shrubs and flowers from her own garden in Clun.

Julia Scott, from ‘The Walled Garden’ in Worcester, came to the rescue as speaker for the August meeting after the proposed guest was laid up with a bad back.
